Some friends of mine in SF went to see it and *LOVED* it. In fact they went and saw it again the following weekend.

I read the book a couple of years ago. Las Vegas wasn't on the list of cities scheduled to show "Mysterious Skin", but I checked again yesterday and it was finally added. I think it starts July 22, here.

I haven't listened to the phone post, yet - no speakers on my work computer. Hmmm. As much as I struggle with the written Spanish, I might be in big trouble attempting to decipher it aurally.

It was better than I expected. Araki's movies have never been my favorites, the characters are interesting but I never really felt for them. This is different. The story also is more interesting. Hope you get to see it, it might be worth the rude people.

Did you like the novel?

Eh, you're not missing much. The post is mostly me sounding like I needed an extra shot of caffeine.

It is a lot more difficult to understand a foreign language when spoken, the words tend to meld into each together.

I liked The Living End, but I agree that it was hard to empathize with the characters too much.
I was rather indifferent about Splendor.
I haven't seen any of his other works.
