I only saw half of season one, so I'll wait to catch up before I catch the video, but I am interested in seeing it. BG is just a great show.

You can still get the torrents at several places. TorrentSpy worked for me for last 2 episodes I downloaded. July 15 the new season starts, woohooo!

Now Starbuck *sigh* serious, serious crush on the girl.

Well, I've gotten a threatening letter from the MPAA before, and now that they are going after TV stuff too, I've stopped using torrents to download these things. :(

Wha???

*You* directly got a letter? Are they going against individuals on such a scale?

Actually it was a bit worse than that. I was using my internet connection at work and they sent a letter to my work saying that the machine with my IP address which was under their control, etc.
The only good thing ... I was nailed for downloading Finding Nemo. I think it could have gotten messier if I'd been downloading gay porn at the time.

Ick. OK. Mmmm. I usually do all my downloading at home, and so far no movies... still...

Thanks for letting me know. I'm not going to download any torrents at work now. Using YouSendIt hasn't worked form so far, but I might have to try again.

Well, at first it was only movies and they were ignoring TV shows. Then when Battlestar Galactica came out and it was aired in Britain months before it aired here, they started getting annoyed that they were scooped and many US residents had already seen it when it premiered here. Now from what I've heard, this seems to have actually increased the ratings from the start since the good buzz about the series from downloaders created a greater audience for the permiere, but still, they don't like losing control. So at first they were just nailing people who were downloading BG (I indirectly know of someone who was threatened over BG), and now it has expanded to TV shows in general (in addition to movies).
I decided I can wait until the DVDs show up in my local video store. After being burned once, I decided to just give it up.

Gah! Thanks for letting me know.

Feeling a little paranoid. I didn't know they were going after people downloading TV shows.

Rewording: I didn't think I *should* worry. Now, not so sure.

Well, the letter I got *was* just a "stop doing it" letter. No real threat of consequences or anything like that. Still, it served the intended purpose - it made me nervous enough that I stopped doing it.
I can cite many more examples of downloading torrents with no consequences than I can give examples where people were actually harassed for downloading them. Still - I figure it isn't worth the worry and possible hassles, so I've stopped downloading such things via bittorrent.
