F made it to the office last night and I had fun showing her all the good SV video I've managed to download so far. Later I managed to ruin the evening by taking us to Stuffed Pizza. Gross beyond belief. We took refuge in a Starbuck's where I decided to ask her fannish quetions for my own amusement. I found out that she likes Wesley slash. No, wait, not just Wesley slash but Angel/Wesley slash. I restrained myself form making too much of her liking a pairing from a show she hates with a passion.
The conversation had me trying to come up with a favorites list for each fandom, so, right this minute this is it:
X-Files Oklahoma
The Sentinel Snake Oil
Smallville Handful of Dust
Sports Night Unspoken by Helen Torch in he site says A Helen story without dialogue sounds like a contradiction in terms, but Unspoken says a lot although the characters don't talk to each other, or rather, because they don't talk to each other. Sports Night is probably not the show most people would mention first when asked to list the realistic and the gritty, but this bleak little in-the-closet tale comes close to a kind of realism slash writers usually avoid, and does it well.
Now if I could only find the link.
Highlander Heat Goes to Cold by Amand-r's. Her summarry Sometimes it's hard to decide whether or not it's worth getting out of bed in the morning. Wash the dishes, do the laundry, take a head...Methos is no exception to the doldrums of life and depression. But just when it seems like no one remembers your face, you can be faintly surprised....""
X-Men Safety in numbers
L.A. Confidential "Heard Through The Walls of the Victory Motel." Who knos where to find it?
The Phantom Menace Cristallize
Star Wars The dark path
It's sad that I can't find a good one for Farscape.
